Friday 3/7/08 – kettlebell training

Had a late night last night working so I didn’t do my early morning conditioning I had planned.

3:45pm

mobility

1. long cycle w/24kg – 23/4:35 (PR)

2. 1-arm jerk w/32kg – 10+10

3. chin-ups – bwx4,3,2,1/2

4. jumping squat – 185×30/2

5. chair press w/24kg – 6, 4

6. ball sit up – bwx10/3

Done.  Just adding a rep or two and a second or two here or there.

2. double clean w/24kg – 19/1:30

3. 1-arm jerk w/32kg – 7+7

4. chin-ups – bwx3,2,1/2

Yeah, high rep kb work is boring, that’s why more don’t do it, NOT because it’s freakin’ hard.  Just ask anyone on the internet who’s never done more than 5 reps with a kb before setting it down.  Rant off.

2. double kb clean w/24kg – 13/1:30

4. chin-up – bwx5/3

5. grappler – 45×6+6/2

1. long cycle clean & jerk w/24kg – 20 /3.5 min (PR), 9 /1.5 min, 9/1.5 min, 6/1 min, 8/1.5 min, 6/1 min [nbl=58/10 min]

2. 1-arm push press w/32kg – 5+5

3. chin-up – bwx5/3

4. jumping squat – 135×25/2

5. standing ab curl – green bandx20/3

6. 1-arm clean w/32kg – 20, switch hands every 5 reps

Ouch.  Day 1 of training for the AKC Classic.  Going back to the Vegas!
