De-load week still….

1. Squat – 150×5 / 3
2. Long cycle – 16kg x 7,7,7,7,7 (35/5:00)
3. 1-arm jerk – 24kg x 12+12 (2:00)
4. 1-arm clean – 24kg x 12+12 (2:00)
5. ball sit ups – 2×10

De-loading rules. My body feels great, healthy and rested. And apparently I’ve gotten skinny. More blender bombs!!

De-Load Week

1. deadlift – 170 x 5 / 3

2. long cycle – 16kg x 7,7,7,7,7 (35/5:00)

3. 1-arm jerk – 28kg x 12+12 / 2:00

4. ball sit-up – 3×12

5. rolling thunder lift – 125 x R & L

That’s it.  Worked up a good sweat after the long cycle.  My conditioning on that lift has gone in the shitter but I need to get a 5:00 set every training session at least to keep it up to speed as I’d still like to hit rank 1 this year.  Lots of goals that contradict each other, but it should be an interesting year!

Sunday 1/24/10 Training

1. bench press – 150×5, 170×3, 190×10

2a. incline db press – 50×10, 60×8, 70×6

2b. seated row – 140×12, 150×10, 160×8, 170×8, 140×20

3. db hammer curl – 40×8, 45×6, 50×6

This wraps up a 3 week 5/3/1 block, moving into a de-load week next week.  Good training cycle, I hit rep PR’s and all my estimated 1RM’s are up.  Heavy KB work is going well, I’m at 18+18 w/32kg 1-arm jerk in 3:00 and 28+28 w/32kg 1-arm clean in 4:00; I need 24+24 in each, so I’ve beat the clean and am only 6 reps out on the jerk.  Plan to get a 36kg, 40kg, and 44kg bell at the Arnold to finish my kb set.  Looking forward to a de-load next week but looking more forward to the Jets vs. Colts AFC Championship game today!!!  J-E-T-S! Jets, Jets, JETS!!!!

2a. incline db press – 50×10, 60×8, 70×6

2b. seated row – 140×12, 150×10, 160×8, 170×8, 140×20

1. bench press – 140×3, 160×3, 180×10

2a. incline db bench press – 45×10, 55×8, 65×6, 50×15

2b. seated row – 130×12, 140×10, 150×8, 160×8, 130×20

3a. db curl – 35×10, 40×8, 45×6, 35×12

3b. rolling thunder – worked up to 145 on the right arm (it was a quick lockout but a lockout none-the-less) and hit 135 left arm for a solid lockout a 15lb PR on the right arm and a 5lb PR on the left arm.

4. kb snatch – 16kg x 14, 14, 12, 12 (4:00 – switched hands on the minute)

Good session tonight. Derricks been on a roll lately. Hit another PR deadlift of 615. Bring on the magic hat!!!

The 135 rolling thunder would have been a 5lb PR had I locked my knees – it was VERY close.  Getting there….
